Pacific fashions took over Te Komititangi this week for the Pacific Fusion Fashion Show. The name Te Komititanga was gifted by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei for the area that connects Queen Street to the waterfront.
Te Komititanga means ‘to mix’ or ‘to merge’ in te reo Māori and refers to the confluence of two bodies of water, Wai Horotiu, the stream that once ran down Queen Street, and the Waitematā Harbour.
These fashions showcased a range of talents, from Whitecliffe School of Fine Arts, Maru, Cherish, House of Va, Lupesina and many more.
